    Hi.
How long the title of a page can be?
What about the (META) description of a web page?

I ask this here hoping to get a definitive answer. I looked up and down on Internet and everybody has different numbers for these questions.
PS: (Google) Webmaster tools stops after 100 characters.

    Thanks.

    --------------
Sorry about the mistake in the title of this post. I wanted to say TITLE instead of TIME.

Well, theres no limit actually. but you better make it short and simple..
The meta-description tag is a hidden HTML tag that allows some search engines to display a description of your site in search results. It shouldn't cross 170 chars. Again, theres also no limitation for this.

Like "Abhik" said, there is no such limit defined but it is better to keep them short and descriptive.
I think a title with 60 or less characters and description of 150 or less characters is ok.

When you search in Google, it cuts off the title at 67 characters and cuts the description off at 157.

So if you want to make your site standout when people search for it, try fit it in with these numbers...

If you want your page title to fit into the Google SERP's don't go beyond 65 and 160 for descriptions. You can go longer but it will not be seen by searchers.
