I think there all different type of republicans at the core, I would hope that they would all be for small government and low taxes. Parties change with times, the JFK democrats of the 1960s are not the same as the Pelosi democrats of today.

Do you not like the comparison? Obama has presented much better talk on Pakistan. Its just talk but he acted like we would invade and destroy the safe havens or hideout in the badlands of Pakistan.

The Tax Policy center has this to say about the comparative tax plans of Obama and McCain:

    Taxvox:

I find it a myth, and this goes back to Reagan, that the GOP is the party of the fiscally responsible, while the Democrats are the prodigal wastrels. You can't claim the mantle by cutting taxes, while maintaining or increasing spending.

That aside, how do you feel about the following statements:

-and compare these to the current GOP platform; as well, the selection of Sarah Palin herself, seemingly, if we are to believe the host of reports coming out at the time, an 11th hour appeasement of the religious right wing of the GOP (who had threatened civil war at the RNC, if McCain were to have chosen from among his first choices).

I think the person was trying to slam Palin on Pakistan. I was pointing out that Obama is /has a greater prowar stance especially with Pakistan than McCain.

It's because in all seriousness they don't really like McCain. They just don't want to see Obama elected...

Just like we didn't really like John Kerry, we just really didn't want 4 more years of Bush. In other words.... we fucking warned you..... Idiots.

He's democrat. He's going to talk with allies and then hit if needed.
If he was republican, he would hit and then talk with the allies, if any left...

See Bush? He hit Iraq for his own profit because of 9/11 instead of hunting terrorism...Why Iraq? for oil. Could have been Brazil or Finland. But he has no interest in soccer and Finland is too cold in winter...

Bingo! The only advantage the democrats have in this argument is that we still don't know how badly Kerry would have screwed things up!

It's nice to see a democrat that didn't like Kerry. Thanks for the honest, unbiased (no offense) post, George.

Because she says "you betcha" and uses the term "soccer moms" in every single debate/interview.

country first dude. this is not a game and mccain simply does not have the capacity to be president at this time. He has demonstrated his ineptness in the way he has conducted his campaign. case closed.

By country i meant US not Iraq. Iraq is already settled. 16 months or 24 months or 36 months makes no difference. Mcain will get us into other wars.
A cold war with russia over georgia or with iran

    Hello...

Why do Republicans Like Sarah Palin?

    They dont...

The only reason Mccain picked her is that he seen how many people wanted to vote for Hillery clinton
and figured he would get those voters (after she lost) and raise the chances of success.

I personally think she has no clue...
