................ I dislike McCain, and I dislike the way the country is, and Republicans need to change," said lifelong Republican Ruth Ann Michel, 64, a retiree shopping in a market in Butler on a recent day. She said her vote for Obama would be her first for a Democratic presidential candidate. ............. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081010/ap_on_el_pr/working_class_voters Those who voted for the "C student - Bush" now are pulling their hair. Maybe they realized finally it is not worth voting for C students anymore....
IMHO the working class is now feeling the pinch of the recession and the inflationary prices and given that the news on the economic front reported by the major newspapers are all negative negative negative, it tends to sink in deeper. In a recession the ruling party candidate is normally at a disadvantage. McCain identify closely with Bush, the backlash is expected.
OMG. LOL! Are you talking about that one Black Guy that stood up at the rally ? He had to identify himself at the door as a Republican supporter or they were going to kick his ass. Dude, come on, even you don't believe that. The only thing whiter than a Mccain /Palin rally is a Klan rally, , and he can't even keep them. Dude, your killing me. My eyes are watering so much from laughter I can't even see the monitor.
They could and I guess the polls show that they did. They should vote for the candidate that they feel is most suitable to lead the country and not on the color of the candidate's skin.
The fact that they need to highlight Martin Luther King was a Republican shows something, doesn't it?
Not Really. I don't have anything against the Republican Party as a whole, but since Nixon, they have become a disgusting bastardization of the principles that Lincoln stood for. The last 8 years have been the worst in American History under a Republican President since Hoover in the Great Depression. Waving around Martin Luther King will not give today's Republican Party any Respect. They are not that Republican Party anymore. George Bush, and Dick Cheney have seen to that. The last Respectable Republican was Regan, (even though I didn't like his policies), at least he had some Respect and honor for the country, and the office of the Presidency.
Hoover would feel insulted and turning in his grave at the comparison I guess I would agree that the last 8 years was quite a nightmare. Interchange USA and USSR and I wouldn't have noticed it.
