permission based e-mail marketing inhouse/outsourced

    I'm trying to compare managing bulk e-mail campaigns in house vs a 3rd party paid service. Does anybody have any experience with this and how much work it is to manage?

    It is very time consuming to do it yourself and very easy to get your email server blacklisted, so definitely use a third party service.

    I have all my clients use Verical Response and without exception they are very pleased. Lots of templates and good support.

    In my experience it was sorting out Spamhaus, SORBS, SpamCop or any other of the spam black lists when a client's genuine subscriber had mistakenly (or maliciously) reported their email as spam. Which on large lists seemed to happen every mailout.
