Had website for two months, now it is PR 2. Is that good?

Well, I'm new to all of this myself but I can try to give you the run down on what I did, this is my first site that I ever made with SEO in mind.

Basically, I didn't worry too much about how much info I posted in the beginning. At the start I wrote as much info as I could find and put it up as fast as I could and it didn't seem to affect my search results or ranking. I later slowed down mostly due to the fact that I started building other websites and unique information on my niche got harder to find, but again it did not seem to affect my search rankings.

A few tips that helped me out:

Posting to forums and blog comments of high PR pages. I made sure I had anchor text in my posts that had words that were searched highly in the adwords keyword tool which you can find here. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Another tool I used is Web CEO which allowed me to send multiple link requests to webmasters of pages with topics similar to mine. Again, I focused only on the higher PR ones like 3 and up.

All my pictures on my website have names like "gambling_addiction.jpg" and "online_gambling.jpg", etc.

I built my site from ground up with keywords in mind, not the other way around.

Hi, I have started my dating review blog satdin dot info seriously from 31st Aug,2008. Changed total theme, started publishing articles regularly and started to post every article to social bookmarking sites like stumbleupon, digg, mixx, delerious etc. on 20th Sept,2008 I astonished to see that my page rank showing 2/10. I think it is showing wrong statistics. But reviewing with some rankchecker I found it is true. I got over 3000+ unique visitors only from google and social bookmarking sites in September,2008. Nice job! Two months and a page rank 2 is pretty impressive when i first started making websites i didnt even know what a pagerank was then i found out i had a page rank 3 ! But your doing pretty good so far as for the social bookmarking try add-this.com.

Social Bookmarking is handy, but both stumbleupon & delicious have no follows attached these days. They're still great tools for getting exposure on your website though.

 

It seems that the backlink from submitexpress did that trick.

 

How did u do that? My site has about 4k views a day and been making from adsense almost 1k already but 0 pr. It's been up since may but i've never done any linkbait. Nice tho,

As Abhik mentioned, submitexpress was a good one.

I also have one from the Indiana Compulsive Gamblers Council and the Massachusetts Gamblers Council, both with high page ranks 5 and 6 I believe.
