Hi everyone, A good friend of mine recently joined a network marketing company, and asked me to help him work it online. The company gives every rep a replicated page on a subdomain of the corporate url. So I'm wondering what would be the best way to do this-try and rank his page through offpage techniques? Would a buying a domain name and pointing it at his page help? What about buying a domain and using a cloaked redirect? Or would it be more efficient to build a landing page-even something as simple as a blog or a squidoo lens, and work on getting it ranked and then point it to his page? Any advice? Thanks, Kevin
You wont get it to rank for anything. You're better off buying a domain and forwarding it to that page. Then put the domain name on all of his marketing materials. Business cards, letter head, etc.
For search engine traffic, the only option is to build a landing page (Preferably one that presells the offer) and then link to the replicated webpage! None of your other options will get you search engine traffic, in fact, things like cloaking and redirecting will get you penalized.
