Nissan is a safer pick. They are sitting at 8.81 right now. In 2010 Nissan is releasing a 100% electric powered vehicle, and have plans to release a line of vehicles with the same technology in 2012. Investors have more faith in Nissan than GM. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/13/business/13auto.html

I will say out of all the electric car prototypes I've seen, the Chevy Volt's appearance is the most appealing.

The million dollar question is "will the consumer take to the flood of electric cars in 2010"?

Or even if they do will it be too late? GM might go bankrupt in the next few months from the way some people are talking. Kind of dumb for me to even entertain the thought of buying GM, really.

If the price of fuel fall to pre Katrina levels the electric cars will not be sold.

Merril Lynch can't even manage itself well :) , I think we can forget about their predictions. If they are that good, they won't end up in the mess too.

New fields in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and others will bring about 3 million barrels of oil a day capacity over the next 12 months at the same time we are going into a global recession.

Maybe Oil's true value will be revealed - you can't eat it (in its natural state). It would be nice to see every house with its own wind turbine and solar panels and really start to eat into oil produced energy.

OPEC can only cut back so far before they risk an even deeper depression and even less demand for their oil - they will find it will be a bit of cycle at the moment.

If you have seen their gold lined palaces and hotels you would realize how obscene it really is.

Morgan performance is kinda worrying these few days. The company itself MAY be ok, but rumors can kill it with the current volatile situation. Looks like Goldman Sachs is the only one left standing.....

Too bad Morgan Stanley can't attract any God Father. At this moment an endorsement from Buffett with his thick wallet will be quite a moral booster for any company.

Alternative energy is a good one. But as the price of gas drops people will go back to their old habits.

I agree 110%. I'm hoping wind will pick up, there are a couple small towns across the US using it, maybe a domino effect with the right government funding?

Thank you RRI. I got into at 3.03 before the market closed on Friday. :D It's up 75%+, I have to watch and make sure the market doesn't downside.

Wind power is a good one. The technology is inproving and wind farms have a vast potential.

The market is displaying "irrational exuberance". Not much as changed since last week.

I won't be surprise if the markets begin a slow decay after this. The banking crisis is not over. They just had some sort of agreement. The recession is still here to come.
