The problem is the base. Republican have to move their base to a more moderate position that is not so Christian driven. and the Neocons also have to be neutralized. These people are extreme ideologues that can not be trusted to make good judgment. homes it is not murder. It is not a human being. It is a part of the mother's body. It does not have an independent life. It does not breathe on its own. being a paliban is all about this statement. your sharia law over others.
It's specially true in the "South" where the level of education is grass level and where Christian fanatism is as dangerous as Islamic fanatism... It's amazing to see in East Tennessee (where I work) how strongly my neighbor want "to kill me" because I'm not Christian (I'm Atheist) but it's unacceptable that Islamists kill for religous reasons !!

Hundreds of Americans die daily from christian fanatics killing their Tennessee neighbors because they won't 'convert' We must stop them. Build up the prisons and lock them and their crazy kids up.
There is nothing special about any of the organized religions. They are made to keep the people stupid and take their money. you'll never know what they can do unless they have the power to do it first. Bombing of abortion clinics is an example. They did resort to violence to force people to abide by their belief.

organized Religion have and is the cause of a lot of injustice in the world. i do not like the fact that religion tries to keep people inline. in line with the designated leader. how self serving . keep your religion to yourself. in your home and in your church. do not push your belief on others and i have no problem.
I think that the separation of church and state have served us very well. We should try to keep them separate and all will be good.
