The mass build-up of nuclear arms, coupled with the threat of mutually assured destruction was the biggest deterrent to a foreign invasion that would have brought communism to America without domestic help. You who then gleefully supports the loss of our civil liberties with the government's promise it will make us safer. You not only give our country a bad name, you weaken it. I think McCain involvement with Keating and him taking campaign contributions from the banking industry is fair game and should be explored. I don't think him being tortured is a issue.
