No he didn't...he fought so *other* people *might* have the right to do so (well, that's still an exaggeration of our involvement in Vietnam). Our right to do so was established well before even McCain was born. Now that's a long time ago.

I'll tell you what I told Mia, another guy who trashed McCain as a "loon," having suffered during the war: he endured more than you will ever have to know, and he acquitted himself honorably in a way I'd be hard pressed to do, were I in the same position. Communism was taking over the world and if it would have taking over the US we would not have the rights we have now. McCain fought for the US and helped protect our freedom. Do you hate the soldiers fighting now?
