I hope the change from Bengal to Gujarat doesn't delay the launch of the car.

They are saying they will be on time, but volumes will be hit.

I think people of West Bengal deserve to be treated that way after what they have done to Tata's. And Tata has given a polite slap by going to there strong enemy (BJP) ruled state.

I only read that it was to come in the second half of 2008.

Any link with the date ?

You don't get cars for $2K coming out that often.

It was the good news. I think it was the great effort of Narendra modi, the Gujarat chief minister. Coagulation's to Modiji and the farmers who stood behind their leader. Mr. Modi is a real world role model of how a CM should be. Also it was the shame of the Bengali people and their Government not to give land to Tata group. The world can learn from great politicians of West Bengal how to lose opportunities by making politics. Gujarat will get many benefits to allow the land to Tata. Apart from the Nano plant, the Tatas will also build a research institute in agriculture and a marine biology institute. All of these plans will be beneficial for Gujarat and lead to further development and growth in the state. It also provide 10,000 additional jobs in the state. Also get benefits to real estate market.

It was just the politics due to which west Bengal lost the Tata nano.
It is just the worst luck of west West bengal by loosing tata.
Great work modi....He is the superPM of gujarat.

Being a Bengali from West Bengal, it was really a shocking news for me.
Well, Ms Mamata Banarjee just played some dirty cheap politics which will land her nowhere. Even the local people of Singur was with the project.

    That's not true.

There were around 2000 farmers who were against the deal.

Singur's land is very fertile and productive.

If the farmers didn't feel they are getting the right price, they had a right to say "no".

The whole land-acquisition policy in India is anti-poor.

The land owners have no say in deciding the price of their lands.

Industrials bribe governments and take away the land at throwaway prices and the farmers are left with no land, no jobs and little money.

It is not the case with just Singur, but other places like Nandigram, Kalinganagar etc have also burnt because of these mindless land evictions.

The central and state governments should stop stealing land from the farmers and let industrialists buy land from the open market.
