google is expensive so this is what im thinking, what if once my site is done....still about 2 weeks away from launch www.cash4installs.com, what if i offered a $10 drawing twice a week for members, but here's the catch, every day i do the drawing you can only win if that same day you have put a posting, that isnt garbage. i dunoo, i think that will give me a boost to start growing my forum. just trying to think of a more effective marketing plan.

Ok, My opinion is bias since I make my money from free SEO promotion, hint hint. I personally would not become a member based on the $10 offer. People are especially sceptical of these kind of offers online.

I think you need to do a better job on your selling proposition on this site. What exactly is the point? I don't know what Cash4Installs means, but maybe I'm stoopid.

I actually had a similar problem with my new product, and I think i solved it with a cartoon on the home page. Check it out at http://www.speak-tome.com

It seems that you are too greedy friend...in other thread "freebie" you invite people to clone your sites and promoting them in CL but finally you redirected people to your forum And people got no answer from you..

And in this thread you "offer" somthing unrealistic...

Personally, I think $10 is not good enough nowaday. Consider how the economy is.

i am i figure $10 in a bad economy is like $100 in a good one, if you have less anything is more, then when you have plenty it takes alot more...if that makes sense, anyways like i said it will be like one time in every 3 day period, i dunoo onc eit starts earning it will go up, what do you think is a good prize?

I'm afraid contests do not work. More of your money will be going out the door than coming in.

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but this is basically my exact launch strategy when I put up a new site....

--30 one-way links from good, quality sites...You can do this in several ways, I prefer just writing emails to webmasters, complimenting their site, and asking for a one way link. (obviously, the higher their page rank, the better.)

--About 4 or 5 article submissions to all the major article sites.

--Recently I've been using social blogging sites like www.echodemic.com and a few others..just submitting blog posts that drive traffic back to my site.

    --A Few High-PR Link Purchases.

--Some forum posting on niche sites and Yahoo Answers (Even though they are tagged as "no follow" links, they can still help for traffic, even though search engines don't follow them.

--Some "Bum Marketing" on www.squidoo.com or maybe zimbio. (This is way easy, I generally submit posts i already have on my site as "lenses".

It might be worth considering who you are trying to attract - who are the sort of people that would go for your offer? I presume this is a promotion of some kind - what's the main proposition? Why would I sign-up for the site?

...also, I forgot - how do you get people to see this offer? An offer on a site with no links to it doesn't get exposure. An offer in itself won't complete your marketing plan. You need to drive people to that offer.
