so this directories your talking about would still have value and still make good rankings? if google wont be recommending submitting to directory site.. they should have at least have guidelines on what kind of directory to submit to.. but im guessing they already implemented and recommended that its better not to submit to directory listings... ryt? but what do you guys recommend?
No... We need to keep in mind the Google's guidelines. If you are not follow just try clocking or spamming methods to your website.... ha ha ha Y Sucks
Every web site owner shuld need to follow Google's guide lines if they want long term results to their web site.... If you not follow… one fine day you can disserve this to your website ha ha
Google doesn't suggest a lot of things. An absence of a recommendation doesn't mean it still doesn't work. Directory submissions still work in my recent experience.
I don't think that removing the suggestions from Google's Webmaster Guidelines should be interpreted as anything more than that Google does not want to promote these practices by drawing attention to them. Google's new stance stops a long way short of condemning those practices or from stating that they will not work, at least to some extent, as valid promotional tactics.
I dont think this is anything to be concerned with or worry about. It is a fact that the PageRank algorithm relies on backlinks and directories do provide that service of backlinking. So whether it comes with Google's rubber stamp or not, it still remains true that directories are one of the best ways to get backlinks and improve your SERPs.
hahahah google in online politics, just think yourself.. do not follow google %100, on this day have a lot search engine... like yahoo and msn.. so why people need follow... according to alexa, yahoo is the top one
You seems to have mistaken. Yahoo's alexa ranking has nothing to do with the search engine. Even today, google has above60% the market, and the other two combined doesnt come half of google. Ignore google at your own risk!
I think people worry too much about Google's guidelines and public pronouncements. They never give specific information about how much value they put on directory listings or any other kind of link. In my opinion they can also be misleading and deceptive -- for example, I think they sometimes use the grayed-out PR bar as a way to hide the real PR of a page.
Google's last PR update was so screwed up even pages 2 days old got PR 3. Then Google rollback PR to the previous state not once, but twice. Maybe the removal of the directory recommendations was just a smokescreen to get webmasters talking about other stuff instead of the goofy toolbar PR export... @ seo2u - what gives with the obnoxious fonts?
