OK, this poll is inspired by a couple of other threads here, plus my own experience... I'm very new at this and am only promoting one product currently. My sales came to a screeching halt as of September 21 (with the exception of one suspicious sale I got the same day I questioned Clickbank as to wth is going on). Clickbank blamed the economy, but at the time I didn't believe that was the whole story. I wondered if something was amiss with Clickbank's tracking or credit card processing. Tonight, curiosity finally got the best of me, and I purchased my product through my own link. I received instant credit for the sale. This product is *not* a make-money product, however it is relatively inexpensive. I cannot believe I would only receive 1 sale in 450 hops (!) for a reasonably-priced product that usually converts between 1-2%. Are people honestly freaking out THAT much about the economy? I just can't see it. So for those of you who are promoting both 'make money' and non-mm, how are your sales comparing between the two? Have your non-mm sales tanked as bad as mine? (For those promoting energy products, I think those might belong more with the 'mm' group, wouldn't you agree?) I am racking my brain here and would appreciate everyone's thoughts. I guess I could start promoting mm products if I have to, but I generally don't like those products. Maybe I'm being too picky? Thanks guys!
I bitched at clickbank also about sales. I had two record high weeks of sales ever, than a new pay period started and everything went to zeros. I after the 5th day of zeros, I had to send a bitchy email to clickbank. They didn't acknowledge a problem. They also didn't say it was the economy either because I told them not to tell me that. 6 minutes after I got an email back from them, I got sale. Now, my statistics and probability classes are a bit fuzzy since I took them years ago, but I'm pretty sure the odds of that happening is extremely rare and definitely outside the range of "natural fluctuations". I'm sure there is an effect by the economy, but I think it's being compounded by clickbanks inability to fix their problems.
First of all, MMO keywords are very competitive, and you can rarely find something, which you could rank for. Also it's quite difficult to find relevant keywords for such products, because there can be tons of varieties, starting from "make money online" to "work at home", etc... In terms of conversions, I think they should be pretty much the same, as long as the traffic is targeted.
Hops don't mean much... See, if your traffic sucks you can send thousands of hops and not make a single sale...
Yes, but the thing is, my traffic *doesn't* suck; it's targeted and it's the same traffic that was converting just fine until 2 weeks ago.
