I got 15 clicks yesterday from AdWords for $40. My Google Analytics shows that all 15 clicks stayed on my site for 0:00. How can I be charged for that? Is it a bot? What is it and what can I do? Thanks
Adwords can send the visitors to your site, but it's up to you to keep them there. It could have been a bot, if you want to query it with Adwords you'll need to send them as much info as you have - but if you're not targetting your ads well, or your landing page just isn't appealing, then yes, people will click, take one look and bog off.
I agree that they can leave but how could I have 15 clicks with not even 1 second on the page? I see this on other pages as well. It shows that the person stayed for 0:00.
I would get some clickfraud software installed so you can send the report to G if you find that a competitor is doing this. We had this a few years ago, and put on some clickfraud software. I found out it was a client of ours that had just opened up a business in competition to ours. They were still sending us work, but we were getting no clients off adsense, as they would use up the budget daily. when we reported it, google stopped charging us for clicks from that IP.
Could be bots. You probably wanna contact Google with this. Also you wanna make sure domain parking pages and such are excluded from your desired sites.
actually this is really some unexpected problem i think, and you have to inform google itself by google webmaster email facility
If Analytics shows that someone visited your site and stayed for 0:00 seconds, it is because the person who visited your site did not look at any other pages other than the one they landed on. It does not matter how long they stayed on the landing page for. Google cannot determine how long someone stays on a page unless they navergate to another page within your site.. For example... I visit your site and I land on your hompage, I stay for 5 minutes, then I close the browser, That would be recorded as a 0:00 second visit. If I visit your site and I land on your hompage, I stay for 5 minutes, then I click one of your links and go to another page and stay on that page for 5 minutes, then I close the browser. That would be recorded as a 5 minute visit even though I was on your site for ten minutes. The only way Analytics can record the time someone is on a site, is by measuring the time between landing at your site (which activates the Analytics code), and clicking an internal link (which activates the code on the next page). The time between each page visit (the Analytics code is loaded) gets added to the overall time spent on site. If they do not click an internal link, then 0:00 time is recorded. EDIT: Just to add.. If you have 15 people recorded as 0:00 seconds in Analytics, then you should also have in your visitor stats, 15 people who visited only one page of your site. Hope that helps Cheers James
15 clicks for 40$? What is your niche? It is your job to evaluate clicks, nobody else. If you pay even 100$ per click this is not guarateed that any visitor will stay on your site, so you have to have it in mind and find a way to get as many as you can - visitors, who are targetted well.
15 clicks for $40 is a lot of money. Disregarding the 100% bounce rate for these 15 clicks, is your conversion rate to sales enough to cover the cost of clicks? I gave up on Adwords when I was averaging $50 of clicks to sell a $50 product.
If no hits then you may want to consider contacting G, no hits showing your site that is. I would just make sure you have everything setup properly. Also, no tracking is 100%.
You are the only one responsible for managing your Adwords account and campaigns, however I don't know what is your niche but that quite a competitive one
