Is it worth starting a Youtube Type Site ? Since the finance required to start one is a little high so is it worth it considering there is a hugh competition by youtube ?
I would say if you are going to start a youtube type site then I would look in to setting it up for a niche and making sure you target it more. Youtube is such a wide spread of videos, collecting all the videos for a certain topic will help your site when gaining visitors.
yes, because the internet user is increase everytime....most of them like to watch video.....even though there is many video site, but every user can register many video site at the same time....
I think if you're going to start a video streaming site then, as CarlBlogger said, you should do it for a specific niche. Youtube has the 'general' area covered and has millions of videos on there, even if you have a specific niche it's going to be a struggle to compete with Youtube and the similar because they have so many videos on so many niches. Try thinking outside the box. Maybe provide a service that focuses on providing high quality video streaming. I know a few vid-makers who would love the opportunity to upload their videos to the internet knowing that the viewers will be able to watch it in high quality. Whatever you do, you'll need a big advertising budget to get it off the ground.
It would have to be for a VERY specific niche, and something that youtue doesnt have. So.... that leaves porn. So, pick a specific flavour of porn, and run with it!
TubeHoster is right..come along with a unique idea..hit targeted market..cartoon porn or fun porn etc
I will also suggest starting with a small targeted niche. For example car race. Once you establish your site on that, you can add on more categories.
Thats not a good idea, site would be slow. To server better dedicated server would be a better choice.
ya, if you are specialising in a main topic and you aim to the right target market. I believe it works that way better to success!
Giving competition to youtube is jus like yahoo trying with google. Almost next to impossible. but getting into a specific topic tube site could be interesting. like only sports videos, Travel videos, Automobile etc..
I would say that if you do start a video site on a specific niche, then you should build up a blog or general website about the topic before you put any videos on to the site. Then, once you've builded up your unique visitors you can add the option to upload videos. This'll also help with SEO.
Video sites can be good and get lots of traffic but you may want to, as already mentioned, focus on not trying to beat out youtube but targeting something specific and using monetizing the traffic video sites can generate.
