ive been doing keyword research and have about 70 words or phrases i want to rank high the engines for. I have a small site so im not sure what the best way is to incorporate those keywords into my site. should i add an article section and make articles rich in those keywords? a blog? or should i start a separate site to send the traffic to my site? suggestions would be appreciated, thanks
Either a blog or article section would work quite well. Focus each blog post or article on a specific keyword you want to target. Also try to get some backlinks to each article/blogpost with your keyword as link anchor text. I wouldn't recommend starting a new site for this, as it would require a lot more work...site design, basic marketing, etc.
thanks for the response, that makes sense. needed opinions and didnt want to reinvent the wheel, thanks again
in an article you can use the big keywords just write them into the content and find a way of wording your article so that the keywords doe necessarily stand out
now let me ask you this, is there a way to route the traffic to the front page (im linking the blog off of the front page), rather than the blog page? or should i just make sure i have links on the blog going to the front page of our site). and as far as the blog goes, its currently hosted on wordpress, i was going to move it to host it off of our domain, let me know if anyone has any suggestions on that thanks for your help
You are always better off hosting your bog on your own domain. If you host it at wordpress or blogger.com etc, they always have the right to kill/remove your blog if you break their rules. All your content would be gone. You can link to any page you want. I would suggest using the keywords in your anchor text on your blog. Then, make sure the page you are linking to is optimized for that keyword phrase. To get a little more power, write & submit an article, link the article to your blog, then link blog to your site Zeek
