    Hi;

    My shared hosting server was down for nearly 30 min.

    I have opened a ticket for this. i have also used live chat for the problem.

    but their answer is "you must wait. you ticket is in queue".

    after the 30 minutes , they have restarted the server.

    let make a bit math.

    1) 30 min. (down time) + 15 min. (the time for server restarting) = 45 min

    2 ) they have spent nearly 30 seconds for restarting server. it's as easy as clicking a link or write a command on the screen

    i have lost 45 min. because of hostgator did not spent 30 seconds:mad:

    yes, i can understand every ticket system must have importance level or a queue . but if a server is down, i think that ticket must go to top of that queue. this makes me angry.

    i'm sad because i have started to think that hostgator is loosing its quality while they are growing . their service was the best.

    Thanks

    yes, you are completely true.

    i'm sad because every webmaster is loosing somethink from this. because they were giving very great service. the most difficult part of having a web site is finding a stable hosting company.

    from my point of view, hostgator was that stable host company. i will be most suspicious for the hostgator services after now

    its better/best compared to others.. yes, getting a good hosting is headache for a webmaster..

    But you have to compromise something.. if you open a ticket or your paypal account is limited, you have to wait - wait for weeks... you have no option.

    I requested few queries on google adwords, some important ones - but i always get "we are unable to answer bcoz of volume" :mad: I never got an answer....

    While yahoo search marketing replies me within 24 hours... And i decided to stay with them..

    It happens mate, take it easy. they are such big company. they have to follow some certain procedures.
    Avoid makin such thread, we have seen so many cases in past that people get frustrated with host and make thread here to show their anger...and later on they get their accounts terminated from hosting.

    So be careful and don't break their TOS. Good luck.

    I've been with Hostgator for almost a year now on their shared hosting. My site never went down before. I guess it is different experience for other people.

    I know it's frustrating but 45 mins of downtime on a shared hosting is not the end of the world. I'm not trying to say that it's unimportant. All I'm trying to say is that you should be more careful about the language you use.

    I'm planning to buy a plan from hostgator, (just talked to the agent on the chat) and If I didn't read the details of the thread, the title dirves me off the company.

    You're complaining about 45 mins of downtime (happened once?), I'm ditched by bluehost cause they claim that I'm using their hosting for "storage purposes". I know I'm using more resources than many sites, but how can a webmaster have an unlimited hosting plan but still don't use it for storage?

    What I'm trying to say is that, just share the issue with us, and don't accuse a company on their very first mistake.

    Best regards,

    I am using hostgator for a long time now and I am very happy. They have good support and my site never went down. If you don't want to use hostgator, I suggest startlogic [IMG] [IMG]

    Hostgator is better than startlogic/ipowerweb IMO. You've had your 42.3 minutes of downtime for the month (99.9% uptime guaranteed) :) Anyway I wish you the best of hosting service :p

    well, the problem with web hosting, they allocate more servers than they are supposed to.. that makes alot of disk failure and network congestion issues..
