Hi, I'm wondering if it is better to spend $120 on Adwords or $120 on a Press Release. The subject is a relatively new one to non techie PC users with regards to protecting their PC's. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks Zoned
Depends on your long term vs short term goals 1. Press release will give you backlinks (assuming that lot of sites syndicate press releases and publish on their site) 2. Adwords: short term but quick traffic generator. You have control on keywords, geo-targeting etc So its upto your short term vs long term goals to select Press Release or Adwords.
adwords.. cause results are measurable .... you can tell what traffic is converting and what traffic isn't... but it also depends on your industry... a press relase may work better for a new product that no one has heard about... whereas adwords/PPC marketing will work for products/services that people are frequently searching for
Half and half, i don't think pree releases are that expensive and record your results on which one was better, its the marketing way.
You can submit a press release for free at PRLeap.com that will be indexed by GoogleNews. You can upgrade to include backlinks for only $30. Adwords works better for me.
I'd say you're better off with a press release if you actually have something newsworthy to announce - this will maximize its impact, in the form of syndicated news outlets (and other sites) picking up the press release and creating backlinks. If you don't have anything truly newsworthy to announce, then AdWords is probably the safer bet. HTH, Sam
Unless you have offline distribution in place for the Press Release, I would go with AdWords every time.
Today I've spent almost 760 USD on Google Adwords. I've promoted 5 type of affiliate products such as Web Hosting Service, Brandable Software, PayPal as credit card processing system and some stuff from Amazon.com. I still have no sales . I've optimized all the keywords, etc. I don't think Adwords is good everywhere.
Yow! That's a pretty big loss. How much experience do you have with PPC advertising? If you're just getting started, you may want to set a smaller budget until you get a feel for things - that's good advice, based on what I've read. And just out of curiosity, where are you located? Sam
If you're not sure what you're doing go slow. Also a lot of people use Google to search for web hosting to use their invalid credit cards. Even sales occurs you will need to wait one month to be sure that it is a real sale.
I'm not sure you can say you have optimized them....Spending $860 on a wide range of industries and not having a single conversion kinda points to the fact that you haven't. I'm not saying AdWords is equally effective in every industry but it can still work no matter what you sell.
