I have a fairly new site with a 2 PR. Google rarely browses it and the last time was 27 Sep. Since 27 Sep, I have done loads of work on he site and the content is significantly changed. I have submitted a new site map. I desperately want Google to visit it to see if my changes help my listings. Any ideas?
There are a number of things you can do. Keep in mind that the report you see in your webmaster tools is not real-time and can be delayed for weeks. Google might have revisited your site a number of times before you will even see a time update in your account. Submit to digg, mixx, or any other website that is crawled FAST and constantly. Like DP (get your site in the signature) Update your site with fresh content Ping your website P.S. Your links in signature are all broken.
Do all the Off-Page techniques, try to decrease the pages loading time and size and frequent updates of your content (Just like blog), create a feed and burn your feed. And check your result.
You need to do two things to make google bot visit your site often. First add lot of content in your site on regular bases, secondly, build some relevant backlinks. Do these two things, and your site will be crawled in no time
social bookmarking sites and forums get spidered all the time, get your blog listed in technorati and comment on a few blogs and stuff
Submitting a sitemap to google and pinging will help your sites crawled frequently by the google. But never underestimate the power of contents and updating them at regular intervals
I completely agree with JohnS0N!!! Just submit your websites to sites like digg, mixx that are crawled fast. Also need to update the content as CONTENT IS STILL AND WILL BE ALWAYS THE KING.....
Join a couple of forums and add a link in your signature. Submit to social bookmarking sites. Like angilina said, if you want google to visit more frequently, you need to make sure it finds new content each time it visits. Keep adding fresh content and building links and you'll see results quite quickly.
