Not sure if this will be of interest!!! I've been training mixed martial arts and will be fighting my first proper fight Sunday night. I've fought in some smokers, but tonight will be for real. I've got handfuls of tickets, if anyone local wants some please let me know and I'll be happy to give some out for free. This event will be taking place in a gym in Glasgow. So if anyone wants to pop along, let me know asap and I'll get you some free tickets. Its central scotland, very easy to get to from glasgow city centre. Me practising with puppy! I'll be fighting at lightweight (155 pounds), if anyone from here is local I'd love to meet up We'll be going under traditional Pride rules - elbows on the ground banned, but soccer kicks legal. It'll be in a cage rather than a ring. I'll be going in hard, I intend for this to be a brawl. I don't think it'll go 3 rounds as I intend to beat him unconcious with soccer kicks to the head within the first 5mins Obviously its late notice, anyone interested pm your phone number and I'll have your name added for free tickets, I can have several people added for free. I know its probably not to everyones taste but just thought I'd throw it out here You can read the rules here.
Well hope you got a good result last night. Good to see I fellow Scott here on the forum, I am just 20 minutes out side Glasgow.
Thanks, we'll see! As long as I don't perform as bad as Kimbo Slice, he got KO'd in 14 seconds last night
Well they've been giving him cans, they couldn't afford for him to lose. I was glad Shamrock got injured and replaced. Shamrock lost 7 of his last 8, and been knocked out in the first round in his last 5. He was perfect for Kimbo to KO on live TV. The guy who KO'd kimbo was meant to be fighting someone else in a lower weight class, he weight in at 205. Pretty embarrassing to get done like that by someone from a lower weight class!
Damn i wish i had seen this, im from dundee and used to train thai boxing etc. But have got ill and got heart problems just now only 21 but would have came along love watching fights. Been to quite a few MMA and mainly thai boxing ones now. Good luck for your fight.
Hehe thanks, ended up with a draw. Because we both have a limited number of fights, they made it 2 rounds rather than 3. We took one each and that was it a draw. Pretty gutted really as we both wanted to go a 3rd and they wouldn't let us. I'm 6 foot tall and skinny, so my reach advantage was my biggest tool. Kept it standing the first and stuck to my plan. The 2nd round he got me on the floor and I couldn't get him off me. He was like 5 foot 6 and stocky. Basically way too strong once I was on my back. If i had better submissions then maybe I could have done something but I'm just a beginner, no BJ Penn The thing is I was confident if it went to the ground I could have got an arm or something, but with him on top I was helpless. Oh well its all experience and a bit of fun! Powerlifer, I'll pm you next time I can get involved in anything locally - it would be great to have anyone come along. If anyone else is local just send me a message and I'll keep you updated. Some of the other fights were brilliant, one sick armbar and a KO that Anderson Silva would have been proud of - knees to the head from the clinch
Friend just sent me a pic from after it - I think I must have been shocked as I dont remember giving him a thumbs up lol
haha. I've got a video of the fight, will post it up on youtube and link to it tonight. My hair (and blood) aint really red, just crappy cellphone camera!
