This $700 billion bailout by our senators is filled with special interest crap! The gov't threatened us with "Pass this bill or else!!! What should the gov't do to protect the citizens? 1. New inventions are needed to get rid of our dependency on gas! I recently saw this on YouTube. CHEAP ENERGY IS OUR SOLUTION TO THE RECESSION. More changes we can implement: 1.Get rid of ethanol substitutes that have increased our food prices! 2. Lower income taxes for all. 3. Get out of Iraq. Do you think that people who bought a home in the last 2 or 3 years and whose equity in that house dropped by 30 or 40 percent still want to stay in that house even at mortgage rate of prime +1? Maybe some would but now all. Second for the government to reset all mortgages to prime + 1 it would actually need to own all the mortgages in the United States.
