oh well... i attempted to read all 35 pages but gave up after page 20+ when it became less informative and more bashing... let me tell you guys me story! I shall consider today the first day of embarking to attempt this industry of affiliate marketing. I have had business plans regarding other industries and only took time this year to attempt one of my easiest business plans of online resale website.. it however has not gone very well for me, getting little to no traffic and my prices are not competitive enough to gain attention. I try to reduce risk and cost incurred (using blogging websites, leeching pictures and description from website of interest) as I am still in my experimental stage and I refuse to risk even a penny till I am fully educated in the industry. Now, as you see, what I am doing is very familiar to what you guys are known to except that I am doing it all wrong! Well, I wouldnt consider it wrong, maybe just less informed But I have never heard of affiliate marketing through all the business plans I have gone through. TILL one day, I attempted to test out a scam-like email. Fully aware that it is a scam/spam email, I went on to do those "sign up with these sponsors to get free laptop"... Anyway, so I spent about $10 max and read all the agreements to know I dont get screwed. And got membership to a bunch of websites including Netflix which I guess is the only one I am having fun with right now.. one of these membership was to Google Money Profit. I never really cared about the content but since I paid $2 for it (which I will never recommend anyone to do. Pay for "knowledge" to get rich) I went to read up and learned about Clickbank and CJ.. which ultimately led me here.. I have already cancelled all those scam memberships that prey on people who forgets about the continuation charges and have since been reading up on affiliate marketing ever since. At least this looks like a better start then building up an online resale with no reputation whatsoever... and you earn off commission without taking ownership of the product which is ultimately good too... Anyway, this is not my ultimate goal to become my main income, it is just a medium to build capital for my ultimate business dream. Question: Can I purchase from parent website through my affiliate link hence getting somewhat like a discount on the merchandize I purchased? Will it become harmful in the future if I do it too frequently? P.S. I know I should ignore Surf4Fun but just a small note to him. As I have seen through all his post and notice a flaw in all his argument.. Surf4Fun. Affiliate Marketing is NOT EASY! You DO NOT get rich from sitting on the couch! You might get that idea for Advertisement which obviously has the idea MARKETED that way to get income. But do you hear Nabs say his just sitting on his couch and getting $30K? Please review this FACT before you post more as I shall make an attempt to duplicate this to your replies if I see that you have yet to understand this point. AF REQUIRES WORK! IT IS NOT A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME...
you have good point and help many people by learning from your experience. wish you have a success AF soon.
hmm. Affiliate marketing takes tons of work when you start out like me, i wake when the sun rises around 5 am. Check my stats on my website check to see where the traffic is coming from and where I am wasting time. I as of yet don't pay for advertising or ppc because i don't yet know how to use it effectively, so i google "free advertising", and start reading I post ads, banner exchanges and so forth. At 6 am time to wake my 2 year old and the day really starts. Periodically through out the day when I get a breather, i post, i search, i post i submit, if I don't post i get a day that I make only $25.00 when i work i get paid. I focus on one site a day other wise it gets to complicated. I do have one though that tends to make me some good money as I know where to find the people to buy. The other sites I am still learning. One of these days though because I have been doing this 6-7 days a week I will get tired and purchase some type of help, but it can be scary buying help, you never really know if they do what they say. but that is another thread. So as far as being lazy and sitting on a couch that could actually be true, if the lazy person is using a laptop! Because as easy as it sounds I don't care how long you have been working at this, it is addicting to check your stats on cj or linkshare or what ever companies you are working through. If you want to make a lot of money really quick then you have to work at first and once you become your own pro then it gets easier.
Me: I earned $30k 10 months in a row. 1000 people: Wow, congras man, how did you do it? Me: You just need to work hard man... just need to believe in yourself. 1000 people: Can you share any tips on how you made it this far? Me: I put quotes on my bedroom wall, believe in yourself, never give up, when you fall, just stand up. 1000 people: Thanks man for the great tips, believe in myself, never give up... ... so on and so forth.... ... 10 years later. 1000 people: I tried all your tips, I fell so many times, but I still stood up... but it's still not working.. I only earned $100 last month. Me: Try harder, don't give up....try more SEO, more marketing, more CPC.... believe in yourself.. 1000 people: Thank you so much for your excellent tips... .....
Lol abcyesn workingtoohard work my foot. Who appointed you to do the work? And what is your pay scale per hour per week or per month? And what work ? Did your affiliate manager outlined what you have to do 8 hours a day? Or just gave u banner and stickers and ref code and said promote where ever you can. Work doesnt happens like that friend. Go to a Army or Pilot or policeman or office peon or waiter and ask him what work he is given for that day and what exactly he has to do to get paid for that day/week/month. This is not work. This is gambling. for more details check my new thread. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1041927 And my tips. Work hard. But be sure who has given you the work and what the work really is. Even its a work or jerk
abcyesn, your reply really made my day ... so true what you said. That is what I see everywhere. People show their stats, get praises, share nothing and get praise again.. I often get frustrated seeing posts like that where nothing valuable is shared and I say to myself why am I wasting time reading, why am I not working instead.. so right, thanks for this.. and surf4fun I was reading your post at the link you gave.. very well said.
This thread has been dead for the last two months because it is a spam thread... so thanks for what exactly?
The Nab's Cronie Gene doesn't give up easily! I love it! This thread is dead, has been dead for the last two months. Let all leave it alone... Please?
To critics - if you are doing affiliate marketing for over 10 years and eraning $100/month...hmm...go and kill yourself.
I write quotes on the wall in front of my computer too. The one at present says: "Focus on 1 thing at a time!" Appreciate your insights, inspiring story and brilliant inspirational quotes.
