Need new payment processor.

    Hey guys,

I'm 17 years old and I have been limited on my Paypal account (due to "being accessed by a third party"). I need to be 18 in order to unlock it, so I'm really just looking for a new alternative. I need a payment processor which you can verify simply with either a bank account, a credit card etc... Anything which doesn't require faxing documents like passports etc... which have your age on them.

I signed up to both Alertpay and NETeller, but they need me to be 18 in order to use them properly...so I'll just leave them dormant until I get to 18. I was thinking that Moneybookers might be a good alternative, however I don't know if they require documents etc...? I'm not too keen on signing up to Moneybookers, just in case I get limited, or they don't accept the CC etc...

Can anyone recommend an online payment processor? It really sucks when you can't sell things online to people....

    - Jack.

Ok, LibertyReserve is not a payment processor. It's just digital currency, which is completely unreliable as it has absolutely ZERO monetary value, but for some reason people treat it as real money when in reality it's about as reliable as Runescape gold

Anyways - PayPal doesn't ask for your age, they assume you are 18

If they limit your account, they may ask for bank account, credit card (in which case I just added my debit), social security number (they don't do age check), and to verify your address by phone number

Who's credit card are you using? Your not yet in legal age to own a credit card. In US you must be at least 18yrs old apply or own a credit card. Here in our country you must be at least 22yrs old to own one.

If you were born on year 1991, you can easily make your self older by just making it 1990.
It's either the bank or person who owns the card you are using file dispute/lost card that's why paypal is asking you to submit those documents

No, Paypal doesn't ask for your age, however when you become limited they can ask you send send in documentation. I sent in my documentation and they said, "Hey wadda ya know? This kid isn't 18". And no, they don't ONLY ask for credit cards etc...

Have you ever heard of a "prepaid credit card"? Well it is EXACTLY the same as a Visa only you have to pay a company to allow you to transact with it. You only have to be 16 in Australia to obtain one of these cards...And plus, why does that matter again?

"Oh yeah man, that's a great idea, I'll say that I was born in 1990...So when I go to unlimit my account (i.e. When I fax them my passport and utility bill), they'll realise that I'm not 18 and lock me out!". You literally have no idea why Paypal is asking me to fax those documents...I've done a lot more study on this than you obviously...Have a look at www.paypalsucks.com for some more info :)

Most payment processors will require you to be 18 because it's very difficult to collect from a person that is considered a minor.

Not saying that you're doing bad business or anything, it's just that processors are liable for the money that you process, and if they cannot legally collect, the risk would be far too high to even consider. Apart from that, in the US, a minor can't enter into a legally binding contract without a parent or adult cosigner, which again is just too much risk for a company that's only handling the transfer of money and not any actual lending to take.
