Page ranking sites that ask for Google API Key

I would like to check out page rankings for my sites but the software I looked at so far all asks for my Google API Key.

Is this something I should be careful giving out or do I not need to be concerned.

    Thanks,

    ACL

Google stopped issuing new API Keys since 2006 as far as i remember, however any Google API Key is limited to 1,000 query per day only ;)

If it's an old SOAP API be careful giving it out, people sell these for the $50-$150 mark because you can't get them anymore. If it's a new API that anyone can just sign and get for free, there shouldn't be any problems.

I have 10 google api keys to sell
    150 USD each one
All these keys are unused, who bought some of these keys
will have 100% exclusive rights and ownership of the key
