    Hi everyone,

I do not know if this is the right place to post my question, but can someone tell me why my laptop has a low mhz when its a core duo and has 1gb of ram? SS is below. If anyone can tell me how to increase it besides saying buy new hardware that would be great, or if I really need to buy new hardware. :( Anyways, it was fine until I reformatted it months ago and now I am getting only 795mhz? Whats wrong? Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

795MHz is what your RAM is running at, T2250 @ 1.73GHz is your processor speed.

If your CPU was running at 795MHz, you'd know about it :)

Yep, so RAM and reformatting does not affect this speed. You can increase this by overclocking or upgrading CPU.

All information here is wrong....this speed is really the CPU speed, not memory. The system sets it to be lower when CPU power is not needed so much.

You cannot overclock a Laptop CPU in most cases and you don't even need to do so.

Install an application like NoteBook HardWare Control and you can set there the CPU to run always at maximum power. You can also check there the current CPU speed. The Windows System Properties box doesn't always show correct values.

    Hope this helps :)
