Not all marketing tactics are created equal. Some are a simple waste of time and money. Here are 3 tactics that have proven to be a waste of time and money for me. 1. Buying Leads - This rarely works because you have not built up a relationship with your subscribers. 2. Safe List Mailings - Safe lists consist of people trying to sell to other people. No one reads your ads because they're too busy sending them. A total waste of time and money if you ask me. 3. Spamming - This is illegal and could ruin your reputation online forever.
Thx for the great tips as they can save alot of people unwanted headaches by cheating their way to the tip. It's always better to naturally build leads and build confidence in your subscriber base.
1. I have to disagree with this one, I have a client who buys leads from two different affiliate networks. With those leads they do over a million dollars in sales a year. If the leads are targeted to your site that you send traffic to, they work great.
disagree on one point... buying leads = affiliate sales which works extremely well if done properly. totally agree with mailing lists and spamming A few more don'ts: -don't put all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your marketing across a variety of mediums to test the waters first. After you find what works best then readjust your marketing plan -don't buy ebooks and how to get rich schemes...waste of money and time -don't trust marketing companies until you check their credentials and are satisfied on their track record and portfolio DO: read the forums and actively seek out advice from other webmasters
yup, those are defiantly not area's I would of put much time into wrong.. spam is illegal cuz it's SPAM
best advice is just stick to what works..... ppc, forum marketing, article marketing, adsense, yahoo answers etc.
I think Safelists are good. Plus most safelists now have solo ads which you can buy for a pretty small price, and get big returns. I use safelists to promote products ranging anywhere from $40 - $3,000 and have made a lot of money doing it. In my opinion any marketing is good if you know how to use it correclty. Someone who is inexperienced with adwords can spend $500 in a week with 0 results and say adwords is a waste of money. When in truth most will agree it's not. Point being is any marketing is good you just have to know how to squeeze leads and sales from the places you market.
The best marketing tip i can give you is to stay with it, just b/c whatever product you have right now may not being do so hot the worst thing you can do is ditch it for another idea.
I would say that in spite of all other marketing methods people used, this 3 technics I would recommend by far among the best & effective marketing methods in marketing industry! :- a) Joint Venture Partner b) Pay Per Click Advertising (Google Adwords) c) Email Marketing All the best guys....
I agree only bad internet business people use the 3 marketing tactics you have stated. If you do any of the three i belive its crap marketing in my eyes, it makes business's look cheap.
FALSE!!!! Except for spam. Spam sucks however the number 1 is actually a GREAT way to market I have never been a fan of safelists, they just aren't cost effective, you can get more bang for your buck (and efforts) in so many other ways. It's not WHERE you advertise...its "HOW" you advertise that makes a difference
spam is not illegal if done improperly it is a violation of policy which can result in being blacklisted.
Spamming in the US is illegal because you are not following the can spam act. Now if you follow all of the regulations in the can spam act, then you are simply bulk emailing which in return is legal to do. I have a post in regards to having a legal bulk email campaign. It breaks down what is legal and illegal when sending out your emails.
