I'm a 16 year old high school student interested in learning about how to make money through computer use. I really don't know very much about any of the strategies. Do you guys have any suggestions on where to get started, what to read or watch and what to learn?
I think you came to the right place. First you should spend some time and read, read, read everything in this forum. This should give you an idea on what you should do next and how to approach your ideas.
i've been searching, but there are no stickies like there are in other forums. can you direct me to some information dense threads or sites that would help me?
You'll need a parent's credit card / paypal make a blog to start out (blogger) and after 15 posts, sign up for adsense after you make some money, buy hosting, domain and start a "real" website with the help of someone else. Update content regularly, and make money Blogs are easier than forums are.
What are you good at? What are your hobbies? A paypal is a must for making money online in my opinion. It was the first thing I signed up for and is one of the most useful resources you'll have. You should sign up in one of your parents names so that you can access your money legally. Secondly, what do you like? I would recommend that for a first website you should start up a blog on one of your hobbies. This way the content will be well written because you have a knowledge on the subject. If you have a talent, then that will also open some doors. For instance, if you're good at writing and creativity then check out the Content Creation section in the Buy, Sell and Trade forum. You can also get paid for design work, programming and selling Content packs there.
You can earn money at DP or any freelance site. At DP,just go for service section and from there you can find a lot of job there i had make thousand from dp so far
first you need to decide if you want to start up your own site/blog or if you want to do freelancing jobs, like it was said before. choose something you're good at. I would recomend you to first do some freelancing to gain some expirience and then start a own site when you found your niche.
Thanks, I got a paypal account. And have a wide variety of hobbies. I was thinking of blogging about everything I'm interested in rather than one unique area. all right. where should i invest my time (and money if needed) to start making one or two hundred dollars online per month? i'd like to start with something with that kind of small/steady income stream and then get better at these things to eventually make more. basically, what do i need to learn?
First thing, I learned that it wasn't a good thing to make a thread and tell people how young I am ( 15 ). I have been studying internet marketing for about 6 months now. If you ever want any help just drop me a PM with your AIM or MSN. I love helping young people. Good luck!
Personally i wouldnt start a blogger blog. If your looking to start a website, get $20 together for a small hosting account (50-100mb space, 1gb bandwidth, a few databases should b more than enough and cost about $1 a month), plus your domain. have a look at www.theuniversitykid.com he posts some useful stuff, he started out on this forum in the same boat as you as far as im aware. Its not hard to make money once you have a website, you can sell links, banner spots, place adsense etc etc. It just depends ho much you want to make. Personally if you set out for $10-15 a month by xmas, then $30 by Feb/March you will be owning a site worth about $200+ Stay away from Warez and all that rubbish. As someone else has already said if you need any advice give me a shout. I remember when i started out being given help so i dont mind returning the help.
Start with blog in blogger.com , choose ur niche and start posting there ... make a good link building / link exchange / social networks / directory submition and keep writing content for ur product , themes .. ext. Good luck !
read, read and read (forums and such)...it'll take awhile but just find something you really like and explore making a site about it... remember you can do alot with the internet (i.e, forums, blogs, sites) just don't get frustrated if a site you make doesn't do as well as you would like...
You can make money by writing articles for other web sites. Check this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=76
AC will pay you for every article you write + royalties. Many literally make a full time living on that, others still even get rich using that as their funds/promotion vehicle building self-owned assets. I have written free info on this for all noobs, try it out: http://how-to-make-good-money-online.110mb.com/ Notice 110mb - this is a free host and is more than adequate to start with 1-button installs and more.
That is great if you love to blog. Blog about what you are interest and optimize it for getting traffic. The key to make money from your website is traffic, traffic and traffic. If you have a lot of traffic, it is more easy to monetize. Good luck for you.
Well, i haven't been in the business long but here is what i know so far! The web = google If google likes your site you appear at the top of their searches, then people visit your site. It doesnt matter what line of business you are in if you have traffic you have money. So, the moral of the story is, make friends with google!
Start reading everthing you can about marketing and sales as these are extremly important no matter what you do.
