I just picked up Keywoogle.com and I plan to have a keyword research tool hosted on it. Do you think Google will get mad at me?
google is a company, companies don't get mad seriously why would they get mad ? are you going to be spreading rumours about them with that site ??
I assume you are concerned about trademark issues here. I would say that your name is different enough from google to avoid any issues. Contact a lawyer if you want to be certain though.
There is www.googleguide.com which clearly contains their trademark, so your website should not violate anything. Just put a "this website is not affliated" notice to be completely sure.
The think is, it's gonna be kind of a keyword lookup tool, with a search box. I also wanted to adopt the multi-coloured logo style, but I think that'd be pushing it! I just wondered if google was one of the power obsessed bossy companies who start making threats etc.
Just because another site is doing it doing it doesn't make it legal. That site uses googles name and infringes on it's trademark, whether or not google has or will stop them is another issue. Google doesn't hold a trademark on every word that ends with "oogle" though, so woogle is more likely to be okay. Again if you want to be positive you need to contact a lawyer.
Too risky, IMHO. You might be seen as intending to ride on Google's popularity and goodwill. You're better off coming up with your own unique name. And yes, Google does go after certain people whose domain names bear their mark if you look on the 'Net hard enough.
Maybe not. But one would have to ask why did the OP register that domain, rather than come up with something else. He or she doesn't have to answer to us. But if the site becomes popular, the big G might notice and question it. They indeed do. That's why they delegate that task to their law group, and they've got the time and funds plenty would kill for. Maybe. Then again, maybe not, and that's solely for Google to decide. Up to you, Hade.
keywoogle? Where is google? If they get mad , tell them "I dont see your name here..thanks for visiting"
I would not be afraid to use it. They do not have rights to every name under the sun that has the letters "oogle" in it.
LOL will they get mad. Yes they will get mad. They will get so pissed off seeing keywoogle.com , they will think they will lose millions of dollars, therefor they are going to get mad at you and never talk to you again
The reason I ask is because some guy had an online dictionary which simply mentioned that the word 'Google' is used to describe searching on the web, with any search engine. Google sent him a Cease and Desist letter threatening to sue!
