Go to My Account >> Profile and there is a list titled "Account Information" on the left hand side, at the bottom it says "Close Account", click on that and continue from there.

hubris will get you in the spotlight you know...

Anyways I dont think it is fair to say that the sellers are responsible for bringing crap to paypal.. I mean you cant control who wins your Ebay auctions..

But you got your right to defende Paypal.. They allways fend for their customers.. Or...

    Are you getting kick backs?

No problems here. Paypal has boosted my business, not destroyed it.

I wasen´t the least bit entoxicated! If you had trouble understanding what I meant, I will try to explain my statement in a bit simpler terms. I must say though, that it still reads pretty coherently to me?..

    Well anyways..

    When I said..

hubris will get you in the spotlight you know...

I was referring to the statement made by aspidov and backed by the fry guy. Saying that it is the sellers that are bringing themselves in the charge back trap, could be construed as "hubris". Fry and aspidov is thereby positioning themselves to be punished by the gods of fairness. It was just a bit of creative writing.. I don’t think it made me look stupid to the people whom understood what I meant. But I will off course note your opinion and try to control my imagination on another occasion.

    When I said..

But you got your right to defend Paypal.. They always fend for their customers.. Or...

    Are you getting kick backs?

It was really just a failed attempt at being funny. Hinting that your diligent defense of paypal could be traced back in some sort of financial kick backs from them..

If everyone who used PayPal had trouble, no-one would use them. I can't wait for the Google Alternative, assuming it's true. And if someone does a chargeback, that is between the Card Company and the Card Owner, not paypal and you, the seller. These companies charge interest, and there is a good reason for that. To cover costs, including chargebacks.

I use paypal for ebay, but would never use it with my business. I have personally known lots of people who have had their accounts frozen even when they did nothing wrong. My sister, for one. She had a transaction where the buyer said they never received the item and she sent it through paypal shipping so had proof it was shipped out. The buyer filed a claim with paypal. Then, the buyer emailed her saying he got the package, it had been delivered to the wrong apartment. Even with all that proof, it still took WEEKS for paypal to unfreeze her account so she could use it again. Bad enough when ebaying, but when trying to run a business, that could significantly hurt your sales. Paypal will automatically freeze your account when a complaint comes in, it is kind of like guilty until proven innocent. I use it for ebay transactions since they really don't give you too much choice, but I use 2checkout for my site. I have completed over 1700 transactions on ebay and have not personally had any problems, but they do exist, I here about them everyday so I wouldn't take the chance.

As far as, the "if everyone had trouble with paypal, no-one would use them" comment above goes, as I stated ebay really doesn't give sellers to much other choice on the matter. That is why they use paypal. For my own site, I have lots of choices.

I mean to say that if everyone had some trouble along the lines of say $1000 being frozen, hardly any would continue to use the service, and would rather give up eBay than risk it happening again.

Been with them from day one, do business daily using paypal.
Only paypal on my sales sites.
Once in a huge while, a chargeback, usually because the buyer had remorse that he/she bought an ebook and did not want it.

Now that yahoo and ebay are going to do big business together, paypal will benefit from now being yahoo's payment processor of choice. Don't know how long it will be for yahoo, but it will happen inside a year.

Most people that scream about paypal being crooks, etc...are usually crooks themselves and they got caught!

Hey, just found out...paypal will no longer accept or give out money for any of those surf for cash programs.
So be ready for a rash of "damn crooks froze my account because I surfed this site and was supposed to get paid" threads.

Ditto, Paypal suspended my account because some one created an online form that drew funds to my account selling illegal stuff. Paypal stayed with all the money, and their customer support seems to be done by robots. After a few months, I gave up. I can't sue Paypal, as I live in a foreign country. I don't know what to do. I had a few hundred dollars on the Paypal account in the beginning.

Any merchant account provider will also shut you down if they suspect strange activities with your account, it's not just Paypal that does it.
You can always call the AUP departmentt and ask for a review of your site.

I disagree with the 'don't bring crap to paypal and they won't bring crap to you'. I had my account frozen for 2 weeks because I sent over 50 refunds within 48 hours, which is apparently 'suspicious' (my product was having technical difficulties so I refunded everyone, that's the most unsuspicious thing ever).

Only a few days ago I had another refund to give someone, and an error occured whenever I tried to refund them. I contacted Paypal support via the webform and they got back to me telling me to ring their premium rate phone line for assistance? I got back to them telling them that it was their problem with their website and I shouldn't have to pay them to fix it. They then got back to me asking if I wanted to add any information to the case? For a company which handles similar transactions to banks, their support staff can't even spell or use basic grammar let alone actually fix the problem.

    My first email

    Original Message Follows:
    ------------------------
    Form Message
customer subject: Error occurs when resolving issue.
    customer message: Additional Information: 'Hi,

When I try to resolve a complaint lodged against my account, the
following error message appears. I have left it for 24 hours and I still
    get the same message:

    --------

We are sorry, we are experiencing temporary difficulties. Please try
again later. If this error occurred while making a payment, avoid
duplicate payments by checking your Account Overview before resending a
    payment.

    My second email

    Hi,

I am currently unable to get to a phone, I need email assistance. The
problem is preventing me from refunding any claimants on my account. I
need this error fixed as it's still occurring. Please fix it or tell
    me how to resolve it.

    Thanks

    Their reply #2

    My forth email

Excuse me, but can you tell me why you keep replying with the same message?

I've emailed you 4 times now, every time you email me back asking me
to 'add any information'. I just logged into my account and the
    problem is still there.

PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM. DO NOT EMAIL ME BACK UNTIL YOU HAVE FIXED THE
    ERROR ON THE WEBSITE.

I cannot refund the claimant due to the error which appears. I've told
you the exact case which I cannot refund and the exact error message
which occurs. There is no more information which I can add.
