PR1 in 2 hours

    Hi had this domain i had parked for about a month at sedo i decided to use it and put a made for adsense site on it. I come back to it and in 2 hours it has a page rank 1. I've done no promotion with it at all. How is this possible is it because the domain was previously registered

    Go to Google and type link:yoururlhere.com

    Or go to Yahoo Site Explorer and enter the URL to your site. Both will show backlinks, which increase your pagerank.

    They may have nothing to do with your new site, but its still potential traffic. :)

    Probably. Google indexed it before. And then it received some PR because of age or previous backlinks.

    Hi,

    If you got PR 1 in two hr, that's good, but how could you say that in 2 hr, your domain is old, may be some link on there, without any thing how Google gives you PR, think twice about it ?

    That only shows very few of your backlinks. Webmastertools are more precise.

    checked the domain with a research tool i own and the site has 9 backlinks with one pr3 the rest pr 0 or pr1. The domain was also first registered 2 years old. The funny thing is all i did was through up a 2 page unoriginal site to place some adsense ads. Also the only way this domain comes up in google search is when I type it as a whole including the dot com. Am gonna work on incresing backlinks and see what happens

    I suggest you start doing some link building and add some content in that site, and hopefully the PR will improve further.
