I don't know where to post this if there even is a place on these forums. I have a virus called Possible_Vundo-5 and my anti-virus software (trend) has identified it and I know where it is. But I can't delete it because it is currently in use by an application. My anti-virus software won't delete it either. How do I delete it? Thanks
Try Vundofix. Also, if its on, its likely that you will have other infections. Therefore download and install another good scanner, something like superantispyware free version. Finally, do a last scan with your resident anti-virus and see what it finds.
better for u , do like Farley Said ... it's better and esay ( safe mode allow Windows to load Importing .exe and .dll for work ) so do it .
Safe mode is the way to go for removing basically anything from your system, because processes aren't in use
Right now I'm trying Vundofix. I think it'll work. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for all your suggestions
u said that u know where is it then in very very easy way if u cant delete also form safe mood boot under DOS and delete it but remember to System Volume Information from each part in ur hard desk i know its hidden folder u can use dir/h to see it in DOS
Go for Safe Mode option, or simply Format your C drive before it infects others. it can be a keylogger as well, which can be a Mess for u.
I wouldn't risk it trying to fix the thing. Just backup the files you need and do a clean install of windows. Probably the safest way.
your best bet is to run windows in safe mode and than run your anti virus on safe mode and it should delete it
use: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm Code (markup): to do a free safety scan..it delets most of ur viruses..sometimes all
I actually had some version of Vundo virus on one of my old PC's, I couldn't get rid of it - no matter what I did. I ended up having to reformat the hard drive and I suggest you do the same. Regards
Here's solution. CREATE A NORTON BOOTDISK OR MCAAFE BOOTSCAN. THATS DOS BOOT SCAN. OR SIMPLE WAY IF YOU WIN 98 BOOT CD THEN BOOT IT AND WHEN YOU ARE IN COMMAND PROMPT BROWSE THROUGH THE LOCATION WHERE VIRUS IS LOCATED. to get into folder- C:\cd [foldername] to delete file C:\del [filename] ------------------- I suggest that you create a mcaffe boot scan.It will also scan for possible viruses. Good Luck my Friensd ...
