What is better in the Meta Title......dash (-) or pipeline (|)

    Whats better?

    South Coast Buick Pontiac GMC | New and Used Car Dealership Costa Mesa

    or

    South Coast Buick Pontiac GMC - New and Used Car Dealership Costa Mesa

    My buddy says the some crawlers stop at the Delineator/pipeline....and a dash is better.....but i think the dash looks bad!
    Any thoughts

    I don't think you'll notice a difference between using either one. I personally use a dash, but many people use the pipeline. It's really just personal preference.

    I have been using pipes on most if not all of my sites without issue for years.

    I have seen numerous sites with this | pipeline in their Title so I just wanted to prove my buddy wrong.

    At worst case scenario those sort of characters are simply ignored. I just prefer pipes because they look better.

    There is no difference. What ever you can use. I am using | in my title tag. SE crawler can not differentiate them. And for visitors there is no difference while reading title tag. Even personally you asked yourself that how many sites you have surfed and for how many sites you have noticed "-" & " | " .

    It doesn't make that much difference, anything u use but pipe looks better so just lookingwise u can choose anything. there is no bad effect on ur meta.

    you can use any one, no difference between |, -, ,...
    your results is total depending on your seo work(on-page and off page).

    I use | and don't know why? but I am not bothered by which symbol that I used in my title as long as I doing my part in optimizing my site...:)

    i don't think either of the two would harm your SERPs or create problem with search engines.
    You may use any of the two but i prefer using "-" (dash)

    I personally use pipelines coz they look better. But you can use either; your rankings won't be affected by choosing one over the other.
