Why don't you want 3G? but saying that not much 'difference' in 3G and 1gen anyway. If you have no luck on eBay then it's kinda bad. Try the UK eBay website and asked how much it would cost for shipping overseas. Good luck on your search and please do let us know how you get on!
I have an iPhone and my reception was better with my Verizon Alias. I do like the web browsing on the iPhone, but the iPod touch is basically the same thing and works great as long as you are around Wi-Fi areas. Just ask yourself, is it worth giving up your current phone to pay $150 a month for an iPhone with 3G service? Or is it better to just get an iPhone touch and not have to pay any extra monthly fees?
I am much more excited for the new T-Mobie G1, or the HTC Dream as it is also known. It is the first phone to support Google's Android operating system and has more of the features I really want in a phone. The only concern I have is that it is a first generation product, and I don't want a vital peice of my equipment being unusable because of bugs.
buy one at the hock shop with the collapsing economy their are great bargains to be had,another persons loss is another persons gain,probably already unlocked too.careful though as it could be hot and may cost you more than a retail item...your welcome
Been looking into this a bit more and I think I'm going to buy a preowned original iPhone and use my current PAYG SIM in it. I'm then going to opt-in to O2's Web & Wifi bolt-on enabling me to free Internet. Just need to find a decent preowned iPhone now, there's a few on eBay so gonna give it a shot!
