After i launched my blog, at the first PR update by google my blog got a pr3. backlinks to my blog were 18. then i started creating a lot of backlinks, from directories, articles, do follow commenting, etc.(used no blackhat of any type) Also was linked from a number of differet blogs. On the next update, my blog was still pr3, and backlinks shown were only 3. On the most recent update, my pr dropped to 2. Backlinks now shown are 21. Reason for my pr fall is probably doing sponsored posts, no other black hat or forbidden activities practised. What i am wondering about, is that why the backlinks are not showing? I submitted my site to a lot, lot of directories. Submitted a few articles to ezinearticles, article dashboard, and few other major article directories. Did a lot of dofollow commenting, no spamming. Still lik are ot showing in backlik search. Any idea why? Thanks to the responders in advance.
1) Google won't show you all the links, it hides a lot of them. Yahoo tends to show more. Don't worry about them being hidden, they're still being counted. 2) PR is not really all that important, the stats shown are not up to date anyway. As long as you're getting quality traffic, thats all that should really concern you. 3) Sponsored posts will not pull down your PR, although they are frowned upon by Google.
link:domainname.com query in google is inaccurate and as T_Media said, use yahoo site explorer to find more backlinks. Google's webmaster tools will also give you a more accurate (though outdated) snapshot of your backlinks.
yes really they dont show all backlinks to you if they show like that then all your compititors will get that what you are doing and they will ruin all your work that's why i think they do same work.
