shocked pr6 with no back links

    one of my friends who by mistake cancelled hosting for the site rateemo.com got a pr6 how is that possible. he has no back links

    According to yahoo site explorer the site has 18 backlinks.

    The site have some backlinks ..I saw More shocked site with 0 backlink and it is PR6

    I also see some high pr sites with no or only 1 backlinks.It becomes common since the last two updates.

    That is old domain Creation Date: 07-dec-2007, so I think your friend buy expired domain with PR6 exist.

    May be the site was redirected to a PR6 site and that was why it got a PR6? I think people can get fake PR via doing the redirect thing.

    It is false page rank like all says, for a PR6 you have to work allot..

    The way to fake Pagerank is to do a 301 redirect to a high PR domain.... when the PR update happens, the URL you redirected appears to have the high-PR of the other site in the toolbar.

    After the update you take off the redirect and put your normal content up, and voila... the PR stays until the next update.

    I haven't tried this before, because I have no reason to, but that is how it is accomplished from what I have read. It's a pretty stupid move, and people do it to sell a bunch of overvalued links.
