I quite like it but I guess as you are selling it my help in monetizing it isnt really needed?

Regardless I would say put some banners to some pet stores on there and at the end of each blog post try and find a good product relating to the animal your post is about and put a mini review there with your affiliate link for people to buy through.

Other then that the domain name of the site in your header would help to get return visitors
