hey there So i have political news blog that i run and manage. www.newsmesh.net, things have been going great. great articles, and constant update , with traffic increasing by the day however since the traffic was 0 till now the traffic reached 500 visits a day, the Adsense program is still earning me cents per day is that normal? what to do to enhance the income and revenue?
What is your CTR? If it is less than 1%, most probably it is the reason why. That also depends on your niche. Some has low CPC but I'm not sure whether political blogs pay well.
sorry a bit new to this but what do u mean by keywords, i just setup a google adsense account, and published it on the site
at 500 visits per day, that's about how much you would make do the math. Say CTR is 0.75% 0.0075 x 500 = 3-4 clicks Depending on the niche, say 10 Cents per click 3-4 x 10 = 20-40 Cents a day more or less depending on niche and real CTR And, I hope that your visits means unique visitors, and not page views......
you should post your site in the review section so you can get feedback on your placement. that's a really low CTR. What keywords are you targeting?
keywords are the words you want people to use to find you. They're also the words that adsense uses to put ads on your site. If the words you're using don't have anything to do with your site then few people will click on them. For example, if your website is about travel to Paris, in your articles you'd want to use phrases like "paris hotels" "Paris walking tours", etc. You wouldn't want to talk about your trip to Geneve. If you're using good keywords the ads that show will be related to Paris and traveling in France. If not, you'll get ads for paris, KY, ParisParis i Vegas, etc.
increase ctr = make ads more appealing to your visitors or place them on better visible spots on your site... 2%+ would be decent ctr google ads shows ads relevant to your content, so if your site is basically politics then your ads probably are showing political ads and youd make a % on what they pay, for example lawyers probably pay more so if your site was about lawers or atleast mention lawers enough in your content then maybe youd make more per click.
if your ads match your content then it's probably placement. What blogging platform are you using? Are you using an adsense optimize template? Go post your site in the review section so people can give you feedback.
One thing I'd do is switch your ads from text/image to just text. On one page your ads were fine. When I clicked on a post the ad turned into an ad for fish.
hmmm and would that be a reason that the CTR is low what exactly would u suggest? any tips would help
That's not the reason The reason is because of the content. Add a few keywords to your site in the adsense panel (Adsense Setup - Channels - Edit Setting. Make sure the ads are in that channel) and normal CTR for adsense is below 1%. The largest chance of increasing it is to add keywords Ignore anyone bragging about their CTR, CPM as they are either promoting a ebook, or trying to get attention.
