Link Checker Program?

I have several spreadsheets full of links for several sites of mine. Managing them all manually is just too time consuming, but we all know that people can be dishonest and remove links a few weeks after you send them payment. I looked around on here for awhile and came across several "link check" programs, but none of them really seem to work very well. Mystik Media's Link Checker seemed promising at first, but it doesn't work nearly as well as it should. Does anyone know of a good program to check a list of sites to make sure that your link is on there? If it could detect nofollow links that would be a major plus.

For the record, I've also tried iBP and Jade Rhino Link Checker, as well as the sites Link Snitch and ManageYourLinks.com - Can you guys recommend anything else?

How about starting to work with the right people? Do not work with dishonest persons.
I would like to see such a software as well. However as far as I know none of them is working as expected.

Zexy, it's not always as simple as that. People can be very convincing and seem genuine, but they're nowhere to be found one the link disappears.

SteveB, this program seems like it has a lot of features. Would it be easy to use it just for the link management aspect of the program, to verify that links are still intact and are not nofollowed? Or would it require setting up multiple accounts for multiple sites, and making a new entry for each page that I am checking for a link on?

Thanks for the replies so far.

It's a single software program which lets you set up multiple files (one for each site). Under each site, you would have to individually add each link. And, yes they have a feature which scans those links to make sure they are not broken or missing. I'm not sure if it checks for "nofollow" tags.

If you're not sure, you should test out their free trial.

I prefer to just bookmark all the pages and do a random quick check once in a while. More work involved but at least it gives me what I want to know.

You could always set up a local version of the PHP Link Directory Script. Use the top categories for each of your sites that you want to monitor, then use the validation routines of the script to auto-check your links.

Not sure if it checks for nofollow or not, but I am sure a quick mod of the code can provide you with that functionality.

That might make sense if you plan on tracking a handful of links, but if you're dealing with hundreds or thousands of links, you'll need a dedicated software.
