    Hi,

I have been a lurking on DP for about 1 year, I have not posted much quality content on DP, because if I have something good to say or talk about I normally post it on one of my blogs. I usually lurk on DP looking to buy websites and text links.

Often I would post on threads where people are selling something, and I would post something related to the thread like, I am interested please PM additional details. I have gotten banned 3 times. I do not think I am doing anything wrong, but apparently I am, the only thing I can come up with is that my posts are not of value therefore deemed spam, and I get banned? If someone could help me understand exactly what I am doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it.

I have been a good buyer and seller on DP, and not spamming any posts or anything except trying to conduct some business transactions.

Scared to post, as I bet many other posters are that have been banned.

I am even afraid to post this....well fingers crossed!

    Thanks for your help

Take a few minutes to read all the rules. You won't be banned without reason :)

Great, thanks. I thought it may have been my responses to some of the posts asking for them to PM me additional information etc. Which after reading is clearly the reason why I got banned.

I would think it would be of huge benefit for the moderators from DP to put this very clearly on the registration forms, as I see tons of newbies getting banned for this same reason.

I have been PM ing people for additional information lately.

So if making a post, I guess you must specifically ask a question that would require and response that would apply to the thread at hand.

Cool, well now hopefully I can avoid getting banned in the future :)

    Thanks for you help.

Yup you are correct, you can't post PM me or I want more info' type replies, the posts need to be of some benefit to the other readers - like asking a question that everyone else needs or wants to know, if it's a personal post or only something that you need keep it in PMs.

The rules are stated on most threads and categories - where they are relevant.

It seems as though most people have a copy paste key of "PM me info" "interested" and "any review copies"

There are 210 000 members, more than 60 000 active members, there is nothing to be afraid about especially if you have read the rules carefully. If you are new to a particular forum, observe for a few days what they post and how did they post. Normally following the established members on posting won't be wrong, but avoid those posts that just aim to increase your post counts. Contribute to the community, there is nothing to be afraid about and you will find you receive far more in return. I myself have 7 infractions, not that I am proud of it. Just telling you, no one is immune and infractions will eventually expire. Don't worry, be Happy here. If you are really unsure, do PM any of the mods here

Hi, always stay in mind, just try to avoid bumping the thread with words like "I'm interested" or "Please Pm me details too" If your interested just Pm the OP and if yon cannot PM the OP for reasons like example the OP inbox is full then try some other different method or like tell that the OP cannot be PMed and asked to be given details. I am sure that would lessen the ban risk or infraction.
I myself got an infraction for a bump post even though I was thanking to thank the OP.
I guess DP mod are just trying to lessen the non-quality post thats all.

Those rules were put up quite recently but just keep in mind that you cannot reply "PM me for details" and you will be safe.

Not sure what happened, but I just joined today and my posts were just all wiped out. Is this what everyone is afraid of here? I haven't gotten a message or anything about what happened, so here I am trying to post again. If anybody can tell me what happened, I aprreciate it. Thanks.

You are advised to post something of substance, not just 2 to 3 words or one liners. A string of such posts are more or less spamming the forums as they contribute nothing to the sum of human knowledge and are taking up forum space and is just a nuisance to other members trying to look for information.

For newbies here, I would advise post slow and post steady and post substance.
