I recently purchsed magellan maestro series.
    It works but just.
The biggest drawback is customer support.I had to deal with them and 5 tims i contacted them I received 5 different answers.Long story short I purchased unit online .When i received it i found out the map was outdated. So i contacted magellan which offers a free map update if you purchased unit within 30 days of map update avaliability.
So when i contacted them they told me to provide a proof of puurchase and thats it.I will get a free update dvd.
After I did that they told me that i am not eligible because it wasn't their "preferred' provider. Then i wrote them a nasty email and they agreed to honor their offer but only at 50% of the price. They told me to contact customer care for that.I called and got Rashid on the phone. After explaining him for 20 minutes what i needed he told me to send him a proof of purchase and he would personally issue a free update.
I faxed the documents again and got an email back that since I bought unit as-is ( i had warranty) i am not eligible.I have no idea where they got the information that i purchased it as is but i got fed up with that .
Bottom line I personally would NOT recommend dealing with magellan. Too much PITA.
I heard good things about nuvi 760 but never owned one.
Hope you'll pick the right one.
