can i use photoshop for OCR?

    Hi

    I have some text jpeg images and i want to saperate the text from the images and paste it anywhere or make its doc files. Is it possible in PS or any other alternative idea.

    As far as I know, Photoshop does not have any OCR capabilities unless you look into third-party plugins, and I've not heard of any.

    You could look into WeOCR. Maybe that would do it for you.

    you can remove the text, if you dont care about the background, by using the background eraser, but, if you just want to separate the two, not going to happen in PS

    don't think text in a jpg would be high quality enough even for OCR software. Don't most need something like 300 res tif files?

    There are lots of OCR software that does the work. I dont think PS has a plugin for that but you may search.
