Official Arcade Webmasters Thread

What are your opinions on starting an arcade site? Is it worth it? Ive got a nice domain but I don't know if I should sell it.

 

All I could say is that I use some kind of social bookmarking method and it works quite well.

 

Does anyone here want to do gameplug swap?
I haven't try this but it might be worth a try.

Coun_Vincent - I'm guessing your arcade site is the one in your signature, I went over to take a look, your site took a long time to load, you really want to sort that out, users don't wait around long waiting for loading etc.

I also noticed your page title which is too long and has basically been keyword spammed when it doesn't really need to be. I would try and give you some more help with the on-page stuff but your site literally hasn't loaded for me yet and its been minutes now...

If you want to submit your site for review in the forum in my signature for a review I'll be able to try help you out a little more when I get the chance and hopefully the site will load a little quicker.

I hope you don't think I'm attacking you or anything, just looking out and offering my advice, take what you want from it

Which CPM ad networks would you guys suggest?

 

valueclickmedia is the most widely used cpm program in this dp forum alone.
and for cpc, MOST not all say dont use adsence because they pay very low, secondly, so many got banned RIGHTBEFORE they can get their FIRST payout.
Search for the keywords " adbrite , adtoll , adengage " and you will find people who really like these top three ad programs. They are my favourite ones too.

You can find other dp members who have the same experiences/same opinions as I do in this forum. cheers.mate.

I currently own one BIG gaming site, one small gaming site, and one BIG gaming site nearly ready to launch:

Anyone here using Valueclick media as their cpm network for arcade site? How much do you get for ecpm?

 

These are the CPM's i had last month. Not great but hey...

Leaderboard/Banner $0.44
Pop-Unders: $1.80 (Shown to about 1/6 of my traffic)
Skyscraper: $0.65
Rectangle: $0.46 (Although it's the least visible on most pages)

I also use tribal fusion for a different kind of site, and the rectangle earns double the skyscraper. But it's a bit difficult to integrate all 3 types of ad in a good position on my current layout , without it looking completely rubbish!

What about Adsense eCPM's for Arcades, so we can compare. I havent used Adsense on mine for 2 years!

 

Hmm. Well I've had AdSense pay out nearly $3,000 now so I'm not worried about being banned before I earn anything. Just follow their rules to the dot and you should be fine...
