I’d like to know what the difference really is between using www.mywebsite.com vs. http://mywebsite.com in links to my site. Are there benefits form using one over the other, is it a good idea to use both or should I choose one and stick with it? Best wishes, Kimmy
I would use links with the "www" on it. You can also create come mod_rewrite code in your .htaccess file to redirect you site to the "www". Good luck...
I have a question. I have a friend who use host for this domain nhatanhdmt.com and he share his host with me,domain for me is http://huyhoa.biz and host as add on domain. And problem is when i call http://huyhoa.biz , it work ok, but when i call http://www.huyhoa.biz it's doesnt work, alway display this: I think problem in .htaccess file in the root director but dont know what to tell him remove it. Can anyone help me please? Thanks
the www was included by the military people to indicate that it is not a site on their intranet and is a site that is accessable to everyone. but this is no longer required now as sites with www are being read as a sbdomain and not as a master domain. i no longer use www, all my sites start with the base down,
The www prefix is no longer used(The father of the Internet had himself mentioned the dislike for the prefix once). It'd be best to go without the www and make entries to your .htaccess to do a 301 redirect for all www.url.com to url.com
setup a 301 redirect. Make sure all your traffic goes to one domain. You can do a google search for "permanent 301 redirects"
Using "www." is old practice that no longer has real purpose in most cases, but it's stuck to people's head so i think majority of sites are still accessed with using www. and it also makes your url look more "symmetric". So I'm not sure really which one is better today, if I type urls in browser I usually don't type www. But whatever you choose, stick with it.
Exactly, you just keep anyone domain, then build backlinks for your website that's all. Before that you should 301 redirect for that URL, using .htaccess. But generally, all are using with "WWW". thanks,
Yes you have to focus on only one link and stick to it. As When you check you Backlinks you will notice that for one url you will get different amount of backlinks and for another you will get different.
