No it is not the one in my "location". That domain is just a parked domain and would probably have a high bounce rate.

Thats an incredible bounce rate! I think the average is somewhere around 30%. One site I have that I have been working hard on is around 10%.

Do you have lots of traffic? Or is it a small amount of highly targeted traffic? Sometimes the two trade off (ie. getting the traffic numbers up can increase your bounce rate)

Bounce rate refers to the number of people who visit your site and leave without viewing any other articles or pages you may have. Basically your bounce rate calculates the % of people who quickly see your blog and leave compared to the ones who actually stay and browse your blog.

The traffic I receive is extremely targeted. Dont waste time trying to attract visitors who would find my information useless.

Well nice work then. Highly targeted should have a low bounce rate but 1% is really awesome. Your conversion rates must be very high as well.

I would think it will be a tough battle to increase traffic and keep the bounce rate that low. Maybe you have swung the pendulum too far and it may be worth while to get some additional visitors even if the bounce rates jumps.

    ie. 1000 visitors - bounce rate 1% - conversion rate 5% = 50 sales
    2000 visitors - bounce rate 5% - conversion rate 3% = 60 sales

I'm not sure what the optimal bounce rate is but I would say that it is higher than 1% to max profits.

    Best of luck!

To me.. the bounce rate is the ultimate statistic. I am pleased just knowing that the people who view my site are sticking around and exploring it more. Its more of a hobby then any thing.

Install google analytics. It will give you bounce rate and many more metrics.

My question to all of you with BRs under the average 30%...

How many visitors do you have per day? How many are unique? This would help us all understand how you are achieving your bounce rates. I am interested to see the info on this!

We have approximately 10K visitors per month, and our bounce rate lingers around 30% to 45%.
