Great to see Opera work hard and change it fast. I just got update message and I upgrade it to 9.51. I am using Opera since Opera 7 versions.

I can never get Opera to work right on Linux (and Linux is all I use anymore) It always seems like it has trouble resolving DNS entries the first time I visit a site, which is annoying.

I think not as many as firefox does. A lot of people invest time in developing firefox, much more than in Opera.

Not much, but everything you need is already in it. You have widgets but i dont like them
    and .js scripts...
I use opera since 4.05 version and that was long time ago.
First browser with tabs, and opera tabs are somehow natural.

    Also according to http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html
it is generally fastest available browser...

It is a good browser :)

I use FF but I might also use Opera more.

Opera is a good browser but it still needs a few improvements.

1 - better spell check feature, preferably like FF.
2 - A robust plugin system. Widgets are annoying and unpractical

    True.

Right clicking on it is just silly and so its better if its like FF one.

Widgets are just a tad silly.

Plugins are the way to go :p

I've been told that safari and opera are suppose to be the fastest browsers out according to tests. Anyone else heard this? I've been told that safari is faster than opera although.

Well Opera is best among all in terms of speed and some excellent features. You can feel the difference between Opera and other browsers. In Opera, you can also browse back page without reloading which is not possble in FF, IE and others.

As of the release of FF version 3 Opera is no longer the fastest browser. do some searching. Also FF and IE7 even now have the ability to go back without reloading.

Do some research before you post up something like this that could mislead folks looking for some accurate data.

Do a google search folks before asking your questions to find legit sources of data not some dude on a forum.

Don't take my word for it! Check out a reliable source.

I found Opera just as fast as Firefox, even with cache almost fully off. I can't stand Firefox because it's clunky, unfriendly, and bland. Several people I know and myself have been having a lot of problems with the latest release of Firefox, as well.

My main browsers will always be Opera and Safari.

I've found the same, Opera just seems a whole lot more lightweight than Firefox, Firefox always seems to end up eating all my RAM.
