Did Cuil just go from PR0 - PR6? They launched on July 28, 2008 to late to get a PR in the summer update. Maybe they did, I don't know but they certainly got a nice PR in no time at all. What do you think the main factor was? All the press?
It just happened to spark a huge amount of interest, particularly among the webmaster community. They gained a massive amount of one way links from blogs, forums, websites, press releases, etc. I would think if the engineers had no connection to Google, there would be much less interest and the PR would be more likely PR3 - PR4.
Wow, and it still is terrible. I wish them the best of luck, but they should have waited and got things right before the big announcement
It's had a big amount of interest in the short time, and it's no surprise that it'll have a large number of backlinks etc
Wow thats awesome that it got such high pr in such little time, the search engine is still horrible though
they launched then, but the website had been up for a while at that point - and they had PR4. So the increase was PR4 to PR6... which is still pretty good...
We its no big deal ,best bloggers like shoemoney and many discussed about that on their blogs I remember this peak (that day rank was 229) its just a day after its got into news "next google" harsha
They can have PR10 but without relevant search results CUIL will be history. I don't know what is your experience, for me it gives almost useless results.
I registered and launched a site this month and it got a PR6, so getting it since July is no big deal. Also Cuil.com was registered back in 1999, mine was registered in September 2008.
