In today’s post I will describe to you what I have done in the last month, and what I will hoping to be doing in future months to further increase PageRank, after all PR3 is good after one month, but in the long run our goals are much higher. http://linkersblog.com/pagerank-in-a-month/
For a pagerank 3 you need a pagerank 4 site link to you. Hopefully that link is here to stay. It doesnt help you if you have 10 000 social bookmarks links with 0 pagerank.
I'll have to disagree Bonzo, you never know what pagerank those 10,000 social bookmarks are going to become.
That was a nice post, I skimmed through some of it, but it does explain some good methods of increasing your PR.
You should post your links to dofollow bookmarking website like http://www.myfavs.eu/ - PR5 http://www.googletop.net - PR3 http://www.kozete.com/ - PR2 You should post not once but few times a week.
I don't know what you are talking about, I would take 10k social bookmarking links over 1 pr4 link any day...
Thanks abercrombie, I suppose I was rather lucky the PR update came after I'd only been blogging a month.
You should read 'Search Engine Myths Exposed' to see how page rank is insignificant many times. I did my own studies on a few key words to see what the Page Rank was of the sites on search result pages 1 to 5, and found little significant difference between PR of the sites on page 1 and the sites on page 4 of a search. It did seem that by page five there may have been an average difference (lower PR), but on pages 1 to 4 I didn't see this regularly. Some of the sites on page one had 0 page rank, and some of the sites on page 4 and 5 had PR 6.
Just out of interest, how high was the competition on the keywords you sampled? Also I'm not saying an increased pagerank will help me at all, its just a nice benchmark so-to-speak.
If I have a site with good content that gets between 50,000 and 100,000 hits a month, is it odd that its page rank is still 0? It's only a few months old, which could be part of the reason, but I'm just curious if hits come into play at all? Thanks.
So far there is no proof that traffic comes into the ranking algorith, you never know with Google though, also it could depend on quality of traffic.
I have the opposite problem. My site has just gained PR2 but I get hardly any traffic (like 10-15 UV a day). . Cant understand it. PR has done me no use at all.
Thats a pretty common thing to be honest, you should try doing some keyword research then building backlinks with those keywords as anchor text.
I have a page rank of 1 and Alexa ranks me at 33,726. Is that good, bad or ok. And how can I improve it? Any advice will be taken seriously.
Your Alexa is very good, which makes me think you recieve a lot of traffic? If that is the case just ignore pagerank.
having Higher PR backlinks are better then getting lower PR in huge no. I have month old site wich have only 5or PR4 links.. and now its a PR4 with latest Update.
