Can you please tell me is it ok to renew the domain 4-5 days before it expires? or is it better to renew it months ago??? Thanks
i think renew it as early as possible.. better protect your domain proactively.. although 3-5 days before the expiration is still good.. just make sure you renew it before it expires..
Yes, prices go up Oct. 1 so today is a good time to renew! You can also lock in todays prices for multiple years so I just renewed a few for 3 years. Renewing for multiple years may also have an SEO advantage.
yes, agree with Dreamerr, if the domain is important to you, renew for multiple years before the price increase is a wise choice, and don't forget to search for coupon code to get more discount.
Being proactive is the key, don't wait until last minute to renew your domains. Just in case you miss the deadline, you end up paying extra for no reason. If you are serious about your online business - go for 10 year renewal / 5 year renewal. At least you can sit back and relax for that duration without bothering about renewals! Cheers
It largely depends on the registrar and your threshold for risk taking. Some registrars give you ample opportunity to renew, even after expiry... others either do not, or attach huge fees to the regular rate. Generally speaking 2-3 days is fine. If the name is very important to you, renew well in advance. a week, a month or more... .
I had a .gd domain that actually expired 2 months before the year finished through Moniker, so just keep that in mind if you have any domains with less popular tld's like that as they have some strange terms. I often renew my domains a day or two before they expire and even weeks after if they are regged with Mydomain.com since they don't charge any extra if I renew even after official expiry date which is cool.
Makes no difference when you renew since it would be add 12 months to the expiry of the domain name. I usually register for more than 1 year so at least I am protected with the lower fees and set it to auto-renew so that I am sure that if I missed the warning about renewal, the domain name would be secured. I would think the best option would be to renew as early as possible because if you wait till the last minute and their system goes down or something goes wrong with your credit card, you may risk losing the domain name.
Ever own a domain and have it expire and then see it auctioned for thousands of dollars? Renew months before if you can.
. I believe everyone be happy to see how much his domain name worth. You have 60 days after expiration date you can return your domain name.
I try to pay for 2 years minimum for my domains so I don't have to worry. I renew them like 2-3 months earlier.
It's no problem waiting. I've renewed same day without a problem or a cost increase. I actually had one expire on me and I renewed 5 days after the expiration and that was no problem (through network solutions). I'm not sure what grace time they give you before you lose your rights to the domain. But like most posters said, if you can afford it renew early and for a long period so you don't have to worry.
If you're expecting a price hike or you're getting good discount on renewal anytime could be good for renewal.
Renew a few days before and you should be fine. Note: you should always check for coupons before renewing as it can save you some cash.
