Can your signature add to your PR success?

Just a quick wonder, As PR works off backlinks, could your signature in a forum like DP add to your PR ranking or is this not possible?

Cool thats great, didnt think it would be possible, but now I see how the more posts you have in someone elses forums, the more you have in yours

 

OR... you could completely forget about PageRank and focus on building quality content that people will link to naturally.

(That's my one of those for September)

 

If the forums pass link juice, it will help.

 

With so many outgoing link on each page, it won't help much.

It all depends on the forum. I really doubt how much link juice a website can extract from typical forums. A point to ponder upon. I think if it really does then it will be a regular hunting spot for the spammers.

Forum signature links will help bring in targeted traffic from click troughs. It will increase your page rank and will help with ranking for keywords. I get a lot of traffic from my posts in other forums. Forum posting is not the quickest and easiest way to build links - so if you are here for just links don't bother

 

For PR, it'll help a little, but it's best utilised to gain traffic in my experience
